It is with delight and gratitude that I welcome you to my web site.
My name is Gavin Young and as a Spiritual Life Coach I partner primarily with BabyBoom/GenX men and women. My practice is ecumenical and all-inclusive. All religions, denominations and spiritual traditions are welcome.
Together, over a period of time, we will explore the various compartments of your life. Based on mutual trust, we will create a spirituality within those compartments that will ultimately lead to a new understanding and wholeness. My focus is to enhance all areas of your life through spiritual integration.

Las Vegas, Nevada
Dear Friends,
It has been a year since I've written a "front page" for this Website.
It is early in the morning of Ground Hog Day here in the USA and I've just come in from the back yard with Sprite, my eight year old Westie. It is a mild evening here in Vegas; the sky is hazy, but the recent Full Moon, now waning, is clearly visible in the Nevada sky.
I've been humming a few bars from an old Mamas and Papas song all day and it seems to fit in perfectly with this, my final greeting from this Website. The words I've been singing are, "and nothing's quite as sure as change." And tremendous change is what this past year has been about for me.
I've left the quiet environs of southern Oregon for the razzle dazzle of Las Vegas, not so much by choice, but out of necessity. I've survived the break up of what I initially thought was a great relationship. In April, I had surgery on my lower back for a herniated disc, I sold my lovely home and most of my possessions and moved into a "bachelor pad" with two friends who already lived in Vegas and together we're riding out this impossible economy. And somewhere along the line, I lost sight of why I became a life coach and began searching for another career in earnest, thus far to no avail.
However, recently I sat down and wrote down all the reasons I became a coach to begin with, and discovered that my passion for "entering into the chaos of others" has not changed, but has morphed into something greater than I ever expected.
I have discovered a new vision for my coaching practice and together, Glenda, my dear friend, confidante and co-creative executive are creating a brand new Website, which will soon be up and running as a blog under the name: gavinyoung.com.
I will be working specifically with the LGBT (that's lesbian/gay/bi sexual/trans gendered) community born between 1955 and 1965 (my generation), although those boundaries are not set in stone naturally.
I have discovered a great need in this community for healing from grief, pain and loss, often begun in childhood and carried into adulthood, which is hindering these men and women (my brothers and sisters) from living fully actualized, whole lives. It is to and for them that I wish to turn my coaching "ministry" at this point in my life as I quickly approach 50.
So, dear friends, the Whitehawk has morphed into a Phoenix rising from the ashes to reclaim its life, and that is the theme of my new blog/site. Please feel free to check back here from time to time and when the new site is up and running, you will automatically be directed to it.
As usual I would love to hear from you about anything that's on your heart and I look forward to "seeing" you at gavinyoung.com in the near future.
I can be reached via telephone at the number printed on the contact page of this site or you can drop me an email at gavin@whitehawkspiritcoaching.net.
And by the way, the lovely picture to your right was taken by Glenda on a recent trip to the Valley of Fire, Nevada's oldest state park. It is a fitting image as I have passed through my own "valley of fire" during this last year, as I would imagine many of you have as well. And the winding road of change continues. I am very excited about where it's leading.
Peace be with each of you,
Gavin
